Lifeline provides 24/7 helpline support to reduce distress and prevent suicide. It receives over 10,000 a month, with an average of 6 people a day who are at high risk of suicide. Their helplines include 0800 LIFELINE, 0800 KIDSLINE and the suicide crisis helpline – 0508 TAUTOKO.
Calls are answered by qualified counsellors and trained volunteers. The service is free to call, but with no government funding, Lifeline is reliant on public support to be able to provide its services. Nestlé provides wonderful support by way of product donations to fuel the staff and volunteers who are there for people in need.
