There have been significant changes to the New Zealand kerbside recycling scheme to standardize collection. This means that only the following materials can be recycled through your kerbside recycling throughout New Zealand:
- Glass bottle and jars (empty and clean)
- Paper and cardboard
- Plastic bottles and containers 1,2 and 5
- Aluminium and steel tins and cans
- *NOTE: All lids are not recyclable except for HIGHLANDER and CARNATION tin lids if they remain attached to the tins.
